Husqvarna Hiperhard Concrete Densifier is formulated to strengthen and harden concrete floors. Densification is vital to the concrete polishing process. Hiperhard is a potassium based densifier, suitable for use with a wide range of concrete polishing systems, including Husqvarna Hiperfloor. It reacts with the calcium hydroxide in concrete to form Calcium Silicate Hydrate. C-S-H forms in the surface pores of the concrete. This creates a harder surface which resists damage and abrasion. Hiperhard will also improve the final appearance of the polished concrete floor.
The potassium carrying agent used in Hiperhard provides a thick, viscous base. This makes Hiperhard ideal for densifying porous concrete slabs. We recommend using Husqvarna Hiperhard concrete densifier after grinding stages have are complete. This will allow the densifier to penetrate into the concrete so the silicates will react with the calcium hydroxide. To properly apply Hiperhard to a concrete slab, first clean the surface of dust and debris. The concrete should have been opened up with 120 grit metal bonded segments. Use a pump to coat the floor with Hiperhard and a fibre mop to work the densifier into the concrete. You must apply concrete densifier to the point of rejection or else risk weak spots or patches. It is important not to let Hiperhard pool or form puddles on the surface of the concrete.
Once the application is complete, the Hiperhard must be allowed to dry fully. A drying time of 4-8 hours is required, although this will vary with temperature. Husqvarna Hiperlith is supplied ready to use and does not need dilution. When densifying a concrete slab which has not been opened up with metal bonded grinding, we recommend using Husqvarna Hiperlith as an alternative to this product.
